BANGKOK, 8 September 2012 Thailand will in February 2014 host the Thai-Africa High-level Dialogue aimed at developing cooperation under Thailand’s Africa initiative.

According to Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Sihasak Puangketkaew, the Thai-Africa High-level Dialogue focuses on cooperation in three dimensions including development, economic partnership and cooperation in the international arena. Thailand’s Thai-Africa Initiative is the government’s work to strengthen relations with countries in Africa by learning from each other’s experiences, especially in terms of agricultural technology, public health and human resources development, Mr Sihasak said.

The permanent secretary expressed his hope that the Thai-Africa Initiative would help Thailand become a bridge where Africa and Asia connected.
