Bangkok, 20 November 2013 After a seven-hour debate, the Senate has finally made a vote to approve Article 6 of the 2 trillion baht loan bill with a vote of 68 to 44.
The second hearing of the Senate to decide whether to approve Article 6 of the loan bill took a total of 7 hours. In order to deter future corruption and maintain the system of checks and balances, the senators voted to leave intact the original version of Article 6, which stipulates that revenues must be returned to the Treasury.
