BANGKOK, 8 March 2013 The University of Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) is joining hands with the private sector in setting up a gold research center to assist in investors’ and business operators’ decision-making process.

UTCC’s Business Administration Faculty Dean Ekachai Apisakkul revealed on Thursday that the university will be joining the Jeweler’s Association, GT Wealth Management Limited and the Gold Traders Association to set up a gold research center.

Mr. Ekachai said the planned center will focus on the analysis and the research on gold products, both in quantitative and qualitative aspects, for use by business operators and investors as well as related and interested parties.

He added that the works of the center can also be utilized for academic purposes, especially for those wishing to invest in gold.

The upcoming gold research center will also be reporting a gold price confidence index on a monthly basis, with data collected from gold traders, investors, gold funds and gold futures investors, while the report will be distributed to the public via websites of all parties involved and all provincial chambers of commerce, said Mr. Ekachai.
