Dear Valued Customer;
Recently, there has been a rise in WannaCry ransomware infections in many countries around the world targeting Windows operating systems. Ransomware is a type of malicious software that infects a computer and restricts users’ access to it until a ransom is paid to unlock it. Individuals and organizations are discouraged from paying the ransom, as this does not guarantee access will be restored.
To protect your computer and network from ransomware, we recommended the followings:
- Never open email attachments or links from an unknown sender or suspicious email.
- Back up files as often as possible and do not connect the backup system to network all the time to prevent infected malware/virus.
- Keep your operating system and software up-to-date with the latest patches and anti-virus software.
- Never download applications and files from untrusted sources.
- Authorize particular users to access files and database shared through internal network.
