Unemployed and low-income earners can register for government welfare payments through May 15 at three Pattaya banks.

Registration opened April 3 at Government Savings Bank, Krung Thai Bank, and Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives. All their Pattaya branches were busy, but better organized than last year when the program launched.

About 100 people registered at Krung Thai Bank’s Soi Nernplabwan branch with little problem. Registrants were given a dedicated line so as not to inconvenience normal bank business and staff were ready to assist them quickly.

The welfare program is open to Thais over age 18 who are unemployed and earned less than 100,000 baht in 2016 and have less than 100,000 baht in current assets.
All three banks have been making visits to low-income neighborhoods to facilitate registration, but people can go to any branch to register until May 15.
