BANGKOK 27 December 2013 — Workpoint Public Co. Ltd. has topped the Standard Definition (SD) digital TV bid, offering 2.3 billion baht as the company’s auction price.
CAT Telecom yesterday announced the winners of the SD licences, with Workpoint as the highest bidder at 2.35 billion baht. The first minute and last 15 minutes of the auction were said to have been the most intense moment of the bidding process.
The 7 winners of the SD channel included Workpoint, True DTT, GMM Grammy, BEC-Multimedia ( Channel 3), R.S. Television, Mono Broadcast, and Bangkok Business Broadcasting.
The combined value of the bids for the standard-definition licenses was close to 16 billion baht.
