BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thailand Meteorological Department has reported a temperature drop of 1-2°C across the northern, northeastern, central, and eastern regions of the country, as a moderate cold front from China continues to spread down through Vietnam. The weather conditions are expected to bring cooler temperatures, especially during the morning hours.

The northern and northeastern regions will experience chilly to cold weather in the mornings, while the central region, including Bangkok and its surroundings, as well as the eastern and southern upper parts, will also experience cooler temperatures during the early morning. The department has issued warnings about the cold weather, urging people in these areas, particularly in the northern mountain areas, to prepare for freezing conditions and frost in some parts.

Temperatures are forecasted to reach lows of 20-22°C in Bangkok, with highs ranging from 32-34°C. For the mountain areas, very cold weather is expected, with frost on some peaks.

Additionally, the northeastern monsoon will continue to affect the Gulf of Thailand, southern regions, and the Andaman Sea, bringing light rain to the lower southern areas. Sea conditions are expected to be moderate, with waves reaching 1-2 meters in height, and over 2 meters in stormy areas. Mariners are advised to exercise caution, especially in areas with thunderstorms.

The department also cautioned against the risks of fire hazards due to dry conditions and urged residents to be cautious of fog while traveling. (TNA)
