BANGKOK – On Sunday night, many people applauded together from their balconies or in front of their homes for five minutes, as a gesture of gratitude to all healthcare workers who are working tirelessly to combat the COVID-19 epidemic.
Families of military officers, at Don Muang Royal Thai Air Force Base in Bangkok and other provinces, applauded physicians, nurses and health care staff from the Royal Thai Air Force and other medical units nationwide for their commitment and sacrifice during the health crisis. They have been working strenuously to screen people at airports and tourist destinations, in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The five-minute ovation was also participated in by officers from the Communication Battalion, the Electronic Warfare Operations Battalion and the Directorate of Joint Communications of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.
Health care workers are the front-line defense to protect members of the public and treat COVID-19 patients. Their work deserves appreciation and gratitude from everyone across the country.
The Royal Thai Armed Forces has urged Thai people to stay home to slow the viral spread, follow public health guidelines and adjust their daily routines by practicing social distancing and avoiding high-risk activities.
