BANGKOK – Thai people across the country take part in a nationwide five-minute applause to show support for medical workers who fight against the Covid-19 outbreak.
People of all walks of life joined the gesture of appreciation to medical personnel from 8.00 to 8.05 pm Sunday night.
Army personnel gathered at a clapping event at Directorate of Joint Communications, the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, showing their supports for the warriors at the frontline in the fight against the coronavirus.
Family members, co-workers, head of administrative offices and other groups also appeared in videos posted on social media, hailing the work of medical personnel and sending encouragement to everyone fighting the new coronavirus.
Many of the videos are posted with the hashtags #ClapForOurCarers and #ClapBecauseWeCare.
In some of the clapping activities, participants gave moral support with shouting and singing.
Thailand has so far recorded 1,524 infections as of Monday morning, with 1,388 active cases.
People are encouraged to send message of encouragement to everyone working hard to fight the virus outbreak.(TNA)
