The Sports Authority of Thailand took delivery of the first teak sailboat designed to be skippered by the disabled.

SAT Gov. Kongsak Yodmanee presided over the April 20 ceremony at Ocean Marina Yacht Club with marine chief Scott Finsten and Chanat Naonarong, chairwoman of the marina’s sailboat club.
The boat is outfitted with a high-tech control system that allows the physically disabled to pilot and steer the sailboat by themselves.

The design was created by King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and AUSTHAI Marine Co. with the support of the royal Plant Genetic Conservation Project and National Research Council of Thailand. (SAT-PR)
