Sattahip marked the start of Buddhist Lent with the district’s annual candle parade.
District Chief Anucha Intasorn kicked off the July 12 procession from Sattahip Temple to Sattahip Market with Sattahip Mayor Narong Bungbancherdsri.
Ten floats carried the hand-carved candles with five of them awarded prizes.
Thammasirisukas School took first place and 10,000 baht while Lerdpanya School won 8,000 baht for second place. Sattahip Municipal Community was third and won 6,000 baht, Khet Udomsak Municipality fourth for 4,000 baht and the Sattahip Electricity Authority fifth for 2,500 baht.
