Transgender men showed off their surgically altered figures at the Thailand Muscle and Physique Championship in Pattaya.
City tourism advisor Rattanachai Sutidechanai and Sukree Supawareekul, President of Thailand Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Association, kicked off the July 26 contest at Royal Garden Plaza. The event was closed to the public for disease-control reasons, but was live-streamed on Facebook.
The event is the first bodybuilder contest of 2020 in Thailand, rescheduled from February due to the pandemic.
The contest was a twist on the usual muscle show as six contestants were transgender men showing off their surgically altered male physiques.
Sukree said the unique competition generated a lot of interest in the sport and will be staged again next year.
The association’s next show, featured men born male, will be the Mr. Thailand Bodybuilding Championship 2020 Aug. 21-23 in Bangkok.
