Twenty-five artists took the stage for the Dec. 31 finale, drawing a packed crowd for acts including Better Weather, Barbies, Slot Machine, Potato and Buddha Bless.
People showed up early to reserve the best spot and, despite crushing crowds, many still managed to dance. Those far from the stage could see all the action on large screens.
Barbies performed an incredibly entertaining show in front of over 10,000 fans.
Outside Bali Hai, residents and tourists lined the beach to watch hotels around Pattaya Bay shoot off their own pyrotechnics. Pattaya’s huge countdown to 2015 was recorded by cameras and smartphones and posted on social media for all the world to see.
The huge concert and draw of celebrating the New Year at the beach did bring traffic to a standstill across the area, however. Beach Road was a parking lot, surpassed only Sukhumvit Road to the slow speed of traffic.

The Bali Hai festival went off amid tight security, with police banning not only bottles and cans, but lighters, pens and camera monopods. Police collected more than 3,000 lighters, 1,000 pens and 500 monopods, which were checked-in for pickup after the show.
The mayor wished the crowd best wishes for the new year. He said more than 50,000 people attended the Pattaya Countdown on New Year’s Eve and that the festival generated 1 billion baht for the city over its week-long run.
Potato pulled a great crowd of music fans.
The runway to the stage was fenced off for safety.

Many people were still having the best time of their lives after midnight near the stage to forget all the bad moments of life and start another great year.
The roads near Bali Hai were full of people that weren’t able to make to the stage area because it was too packed.
Police were strictly searching people at the entrance for weapons and objects that can potentially harm others.
Police collected many pens, lighters and bottles, preventing people from using them in the stage area to harm others.
Monopods and selfie sticks used for mobile phones were also prohibited to the stage area, but owners were able to claim them back on the way out.
