The Royal Varuna Yacht Club (RVYC) joined the Rotary Club of Bangkok South, and the Pakkred Home for Handicapped Children, to organize another Kid’s Day Out this year. 300 handicapped and underprivileged children were brought to RVYC where they were treated to facilities and food to help them enjoy their annual trip to the beach.
Shrewsbury International School has been the event sponsor for several years, and this year were joined by other regular supporters such as Castrol, Bumrungrad Hospital, Coca Cola, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and Wall’s Ice Cream.
300 handicapped and underprivileged children were brought to RVYC to enjoy their annual trip to the beach.
Up to 150 volunteers were on hand from various places to help these children enjoy the sunshine and ocean, a delicious lunch, games and activities.
The children and guests were welcomed by Richard Holt – General Manager of RVYC, who told them, “Royal Varuna Yacht Club is very happy that we are part of this important activity, helping these children feel special and enjoy the day at the beach.”
There were games, raffle prizes, a magic show performed by Dr Penguin, and a singing contest to entertain the children after an active swimming day at the pool and the beach.
“I would like to also thank volunteers and our club members who came here today offering a helping hand,” Holt added.
The RVYC pool is always a popular area.
