The Child Protection & Development Center celebrated the opening of another new building at its Huay Yai campus, an office building sponsored by French expat Jean Gral and his partner Rapnarong Seekaew.
Human Help Network Thailand Director Radchada Chomjinda hosted the March 7 event with representatives from the French embassy and members of local clubs and associations.
The ribbon cutting was performed by (from left) Consul Pierre Blondel, Premier Counselor Sylvain Fourriere, Jean Gral and Rapnarong Seekaew.
Radchada thanked sponsors and embassy guests. She also talked about the beginning of the center four years ago and the changes made since then.
“Much was accomplished with the great help of foreign embassies and through many private sponsors,” she said. “They all helped us to achieve the place where we are now. At the moment we have 60 children at the center, ages 4-18, who have found a permanent home here.”
Radchada Chomjinda welcomes the guests.
After her speech, children from the center and children from the Thepprasit Community who completed a recent “To Be No. 1” contest performed a dance show.
French consuls Sylvain Fourriere and Pierre Blondel said they were happy to attend as representatives of the French ambassador and even more happy to help for the center.
