Curtain comes down on final TFi event – Music from the Movies

TFi held what maybe their final event at The Venue with the theme Music from the Movies, raising a further 27,000 baht for charity.

The event was sponsored by the Riviera Group and featured two live bands showcasing music from the silver screen. The entry fee of 500 baht included 3 hours of free flow beer, wine and soft drinks, and guests could opt to pay an additional 240 baht to include the delicious curry buffet.

TFi was setup in August 2013 and in the last 30 months they have hosted 12 events and raised over 720,000 baht to help the impoverished in and around Pattaya.

For the Music from the Movies event, 60 guests were in attendance and many came dressed as their favourite character from cinema, with Clark Kent, Spiderman, and a St Trinians schoolgirl all making an appearance, and even the Filipino band came as Pirates of the Caribbean.

Prizes were given to the best dressed and Clark Kent walked away with a 4,000 baht voucher for Mantra restaurant. The whole event raised a further 27,000 baht for charity.

The TFi team announced that due to the current economy that this would likely be their final event, yet they would continue to put the funds raised to good use, by looking at cases, people and projects that need a bit of extra help to get by.

If the economy turns a corner and sponsors are willing to support TFi, the team will come back and continue to create fun events for charity. In the meantime they thank Sandy and his team at The Venue, Riviera Group and all the sponsors that have helped them make a difference not only to the social calendar in Pattaya but also by making a difference to those who really need assistance.
