Lions Club, Cultural Council make merit, donate to Banglamung needy

The Lions Club of Pratamnak-Pattaya celebrated the birthdays of 16 members with a Buddhist merit-making ceremony and donations of food and supplies to Pattaya-area welfare organizations.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome was on hand to receive donations from the Lions and the Pattaya Cultural Council at Chaimongkol Temple June 17. There the Lions marked the June birthdays of 16 members by offering lunch to 129 monks before dining together with family and friends.

Chapter President Rungthip Suksrikan said the Pattaya Cultural Council had contributed funds to help the Lions Club donate 10 bags of rice and six gallons of detergent to needy area residents. Among the recipients was the Guranyawet Home for the Disabled, the Banglamung Orphanage, and the Banglamung Home for the Elderly.

Kunplome, who received the donated items, also presented funds to monks for improvements at Chaimongkol.
