Pattaya Mail bids farewell to long-serving colleague at New Year’s party

The Pattaya Mail celebrated the New Year while also saying goodbye to a beloved colleague who loyally and dedicatedly served the company for 14 years.

Managing Director Peter Malhotra hosted the Dec. 30 party at the newspaper’s office located on Thepprasit Road.

Employees enjoyed food and drink and took the occasion to bid a fond farewell to webmaster Nathakorn Paew?soongnern, ‘Chon’ one of the company’s longest-tenured employees. Everyone also won prizes in a lucky draw.

The 44-year-old Chon is an alumni of the Redemptorist Vocational School for Persons with Disabilities and was hired by the Pattaya Mail in 2002 for his gifted abilities with computers. He plans to return to his hometown to wed the girl of his dreams and settle down to help his parents run their business.

Nattakorn said he was happy to have worked at the Pattaya Mail and considered staff members his second family. He said he never thought his journey would come to an end due to family commitments, but he will be visiting from time to time.

Peter thanked Chon for his many years of sacrifice and service to the company, commending him for his excellent workmanship and discipline. “In 14 years I have never heard one complaint nor any demand from you. You are a very good man and will be hard to replace. Keep in mind that you will always be part of our family.”
