The Rayong-Pattaya Ladies Circle (RLC) in cooperation with Women With A Mission (WMM) organised their first charity dinner dance at the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya Beach, Hall of Fame on Saturday 2nd November.  The event is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year and over 210 members and guests were in attendance.  This spectacular evening also brought many onlookers on the Red Carpet as well as during the performance shows in the main hall.

The purpose of this endeavor was to throw a fabulous party while raising funds for the very worthy causes supported by WWM, which is a private voluntary organisation based in Pattaya.  WWM’s original mission was providing food and shelter for displaced Tsunami victims.  They have since expanded to working with local families with disabilities in the Chonburi region, and providing shelter, education and meals for children at risk under their Nourish, Educate and Care programs.

To ‘sparkle like a starlet and party like a rock star’ was the aim and the theme of the evening.  The guests wholeheartedly took up the challenge with the ladies dressed in all their finery and glitzy ball gowns and the gentleman in their dinner suits.  The venue was decorated to suit the occasion and many thanks go to RLC’s own Renata (Tata) Cordiero Cinelli and also to Patra Vichakanalun (GodD) and her staff at the Hard Rock Hotel for a brilliant effort.

The Red Carpet was laid out and the local Paparazzi and onlookers were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the guests.  The Guests duly arrived and the party started with champagne being served in the reception area of the ballroom.  During this time everyone took the opportunity of having their photographs taken in front of a prepared photo-shoot backcloth, with the photographs being prepared during the evening for everyone to take home.

During the reception the guests were able to view displays of art by Ingrid van der Hayden and a dress collection by designer Erika Ernst for ZuckerBraun, both from Pattaya.

Chris Parsons, who is well known in the local community, acted as MC for the evening and welcomed all guests.  Then he introduced Transfigure, a spectacular Art Performance Show, which was a collaboration between Ingrid and Erika (ZuckerBraun), which exclusively presented the dress collection specially designed for the event.  Combining colour, shape and the human body leads to human sculpture and the show brought a new dimension of art and fashion through a common denominator “Creation”.  The guests thoroughly enjoyed the display and showed their appreciation to the artists and the professional models at the end.

Following the delicious international buffet, Kylie Grimmer, Bronwyn Carey and Rosanne Diamente, took the stage and thanked the events’ generous sponsors who included American Axle Manufacturing, Caterpillar Incorporated, Glow Companies and The Regents International School, Pattaya.  The RLC committee and event organisers (Sopa Mocny, Beatrice Walker, Tata Cinelli, and Michelle Brinker) then joined WWM on stage.

RLC’s President Sopa Mocny thanked her fellow organisers, the Hard Rock Hotel, the event project manager and friend of RLC, David Harfield, the Emcee Extraordinaire Chris Parsons, the numerous volunteers and contributors and all the guests for coming together to create such a magnificent night.  Sopa then expressed her gratitude for everything that WWM does for the community of disadvantaged in her native country and vowed continued support to the hardworking women of WWM.

RLC then presented the biggest of cheques (literally), for B280,000 to WWM as their donation of funds raised solely by the Red Carpet event!

There was much fun with the presentations of the Pattaya Oscars, and some great “lucky seat” prizes for the evening which were provided by local businesses, Mermaids Dive Shop in Jomtien, Pullman Pattaya Hotel, Amari Orchard Pattaya, Fairtex Sports Club, Foodland, Coco’s Bar, Planet Football and The Hard Rock Hotel.

Stephanie Moorhouse’s Steps & Rhythm Dance Academy performed a variety of exciting and fun dances including a hot Bachatango, Zumba, Bollywood, Cumbia, Salsa Shine and finishing with the sensual and sexy Argentine Tango.  It was fabulous to see the Zumba performed by guests from the evening after a quick change of costume.

To conclude the evening, Chris Parsons introduced Harpic Bryant and the Band of Smiles who played the evening out with their own brand of music.  The band was eventually joined by Pattaya’s very own Kerry-Anne Randall and later Wiki Hamilton.  The dance floor was packed all night long!  It was a spectacular evening out that included art, fashion, music, good food, good wine and plenty to talk about the day after!  Lots of fun was had for a very worthy cause.
