A culinary world tour highlighted the annual holiday party by past Rotary International District 3340 Governor. Premprecha Dibbayawan.
In a new venue this year at the Redemptorist Vocational School for Persons with Disabilities, the Dec. 28 party co-organized by Premprecha’s friend Ron Small drew a large number of guests.
Father Ray Foundation executives Rev. Michael Picharn Jaiseri and Rev. Peter Pattarapong Sriworakul welcomed all the guests and introduced the homemade meal, which was served individually instead of via the usual buffet.
Jaiseri said he wanted to take the guests on a journey around the world. Thus, the cream soup was French and the gazpacho was Spanish. Eastern Europe was chosen for the second dish: Russian eggs. The main entrée brought the guests to Italy with a Florentine chicken breast. Only the fruit dessert was from Thailand.
The guests thanked their hosts by buying lots of raffle tickets, so many that Rotarian Martin Brands gave many of his tickets for free to the school so they could be raffled off again.
Among the prizes were freshwater pearls, fans, a rice cooker, vases, two old paintings and more.
A Christmas song sang by all the guests together ended the event.
