Bangkok Hospital Pattaya hosted a volunteer “Save Your Breast Project” to sew bra inserts for mastectomy patients recovering from breast cancer.
Dr. Tapanutt Likhitmaskul opened the Oct. 21 event cosponsored by Phramongkutklao Hospital and supported by the Banglamung Volunteering Club led by Wanchai Sanngame.
Wanchai said the club wanted to raise awareness among women about breast cancer including prevention, self-checks and screenings.
Volunteers sewed inserts for women who underwent mastectomies at Phramongkutklao.
Tapanutt said women should begin doing self-checks at age 20 and those over 35 should undergo mammograms once a year or as frequently as their physician advises.
