Korean brand beauty pageant lights up Central Festival

Central Festival Pattaya Beach celebrated 60 years of Thai-Korean friendship with the Miss Hanbok pageant.

General Manager Ronida Rattanachaichoke kicked off the Feb. 16 tournament sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Korean Cultural Association of Pattaya, and the Korean People’s Association Thailand.

The special judge was Park Yuri, director of the Miss Korea International pageant, who looked for the most beautiful and best personality for the Hanbok brand.

There were a total of 140 contestants from all over the nation and the Hanbok clothing they wore was worth more than 20 million baht.

Apart from the stage activities, there were booths offering a variety of Korean goods as well as products, clothing and more. The food and sweets were free. There was also special entertainment from a K-pop band.

Winners were, in order, Nopawan Chamnanchaing, 29; Patpicha Jirachaitak, 24; and Ratchaneekorn Pornsawang, 26. All winners received a sash, certificate and will represent Thailand in the Miss Hanbok International pageant in South Korea.
