At the Blue Activity Area, Laem Bali Hai, Pattaya, Manot Nongyai, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, presided over the opening ceremony of the Pattaya Trail Running Event, marking its second annual edition on August 18. The event saw an impressive turnout of over 2,000 participants, including both Thai and international runners, along with distinguished guests.
The Pattaya Trail Running Event, organized by Pattaya City in collaboration with the Pattaya Running Association and the Sports Authority of Thailand, Chonburi, featured three race distances: 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and 3 kilometers. The race routes included Laem Bali Hai and the surrounding areas of Khao Phra Tamnak and Khao Phra Yai (Big Buddha Hill) in Pattaya. The event aimed to promote sports activities, enhance the image of Pattaya and Chonburi as a sports city, and support sustainable tourism and economic growth.
The competition was divided into several categories:
-10 Kilometers: 12 categories including general male (under 30, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and above) and general female (under 30, 30-39, 40-49, 50 and above).
-5 Kilometers: 2 categories for general male and female.
-3 Kilometers: Family category.
Winners of the 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer races received trophies, cash prizes, and commemorative medals from Pattaya City. The 3-kilometer family category winners were awarded prizes from the Sports Authority of Thailand, Chonburi. Additionally, there were four surprise awards of the “Labuboo” dolls for participants.
The event not only highlighted the spirit of community and competition but also reinforced Pattaya’s commitment to promoting sports tourism and economic development.
