PATTAYA, Thailand – The rainstorm that swept through the area on the night of Oct. 21 inflicted severe damage on multiple houses, with roofs blown away. Adding to the impact, heavy rainfall exacerbated the situation, causing significant harm to personal belongings and structures. Over ten homes experienced varying degrees of destruction.
On October 23, Deputy Mayor Wanchai Saenngam and officials from the Municipal Social Welfare Department of Nongprue Sub-district swiftly responded to the aftermath of the storm at the houses in Soi Chaiyapornvithi, east Pattaya.
Wanchai observed that most residents were unprepared for such an event, as a typical heavy rainfall did not usually result in causing this degree of damage. However, the storm’s intensity dislodged roofs, leading to extensive destruction.
To meet the immediate needs of affected families, the municipality provided essential relief supplies to assist them in coping with the aftermath. Preparations were underway to dispatch officials for preliminary repair work before conducting a detailed damage assessment.
