PATTAYA, Thailand – Mayor Poramet Ngampichet announced the success of the “PATTAYA COUNTDOWN 2025: Carnival of Happiness”, held from December 29-31, 2024, at Pattaya Beach and Koh Larn, as part of the city’s New Year celebrations. The event, organized in collaboration with the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization, aimed to promote tourism and boost the local economy.
During the event period from December 28, 2024, to January 1, 2025, Pattaya welcomed 393,016 visitors. Of these, 308,468 stayed in the city’s 61,034 available hotel and resort rooms, resulting in an average occupancy rate of 83.05%. The remaining 22,412 visitors stayed with relatives or in other accommodations.
The economic impact was substantial, with a total of 5.007 billion baht circulating in the local economy. Tourists spent an average of 4,664.95 baht per day, while day-trippers spent 1,841.28 baht, and other visitors spent 4,506.65 baht daily.
Mayor Poramet expressed his gratitude to both residents and tourists for choosing Pattaya as their destination for New Year’s celebrations. He highlighted how the event not only boosted local income but also showcased tourism as a key driver of Pattaya’s economy.
Looking forward, the mayor emphasized the city’s commitment to its “BETTERPATTAYA” initiative, which focuses on improving infrastructure, promoting high-quality tourism, enhancing safety, maintaining cleanliness, and protecting the environment. He assured that next year’s festivities will be even bigger and better, reinforcing Pattaya’s reputation as a premier destination for both locals and international visitors.
