BANGKOK, Thailand – The Meteorological Department reports that northern, northeastern, central, Bangkok metropolitan, eastern, and upper southern regions of Thailand will experience cool to cold weather in the mornings, while the lower southern region may see light rain in some areas.
According to the 24-hour weather forecast, a moderate high-pressure system or cool air mass covering upper Thailand and the upper southern region has begun to weaken. This will cause temperatures to rise by 1-2°C in these areas, along with morning mist. The northern and northeastern regions will remain chilly to cold, while the central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, as well as the eastern and upper southern regions, will experience cool morning temperatures.
Mountain peaks will see cold to very cold conditions with occasional frost, while hilltops will be cold. Residents in upper Thailand and the upper southern region are advised to take care of their health due to the cold weather and to be cautious of fire hazards caused by dry conditions. Travelers are also urged to exercise caution in areas with fog.
Meanwhile, the northeastern monsoon continues to prevail over the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea, causing light rain in parts of the lower southern region. Moderate waves in the Gulf of Thailand will reach heights of 1-2 meters, rising above 2 meters in stormy areas.
In the Andaman Sea, waves will remain under 1 meter, rising above 1 meter in stormy areas.
Mariners in these regions are advised to navigate carefully and avoid sailing in stormy areas.
Bangkok and its vicinity will experience cool mornings with light mist, and temperatures will rise by 1-2°C. The minimum temperature will range from 21-24°C, while the maximum will be 32-34°C. (TNA)
