BANGKOK, Thailand – Skål International Bangkok, a cornerstone of Thailand’s tourism industry since 1956, successfully hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and monthly networking luncheon on Tuesday, 18 March 2025. As one of the longest-established Skål clubs, the organization continues to strengthen industry ties and support Thailand’s tourism sector. The event, typically held on the second Tuesday of each month, was postponed by a week to accommodate members returning from the ITB Travel Show in Berlin.
The AGM took place in the grand ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Hotel, attracting a record number of members and guests. President James Thurlby initiated proceedings with the traditional Skål toast and confirmed the successful completion of the online voting process, which resulted in the election of a new committee. With statutory quorums met, the meeting proceeded smoothly and transparently.

I am particularly focused on driving benefits for our members, increasing our Young Skål members, and providing events aimed at women in leadership. Above all, what is most important to me is increasing our membership. Being one of the world’s leading tourism destinations, with its vibrant tourism community, this is a very achievable goal,” he stated.
The event also recognized sponsors for their vital support in advancing Skål Bangkok’s goals, particularly its charitable initiatives during the festive season. A key highlight of the luncheon was the recognition of Past President Kanokros “Aom” Wongvekin, who was honoured with her Past President’s chain, a moment she accepted with great appreciation.
