PATTAYA, Thailand – The atmosphere in Khao Phra Tamnak, Pattaya, was lively as both locals and tourists visited the area to mark the beginning of the New Year, January 5. The date coincided with the arrival of the “Year of the Snake,” a symbol of transformation and renewal, where just like the snake shedding its skin, people are encouraged to leave behind old habits and embrace a new, brighter future.
Visitors, including many Asian tourists and local residents from nearby areas, gathered at the King Chumphon Memorial Shrine to pray for good fortune and prosperity. Offerings of flowers, incense, and betel nuts were presented in reverence, while tourists took in the stunning views from the site, overlooking the entire stretch of Pattaya Beach from North to South. The location is renowned for its scenic vantage point, offering panoramic views of the clear sea and coastline.
In addition to the shrine, many also visited the nearby Khao Phra Baht Temple, where they made merit by offering alms to monks, paying utility bills, and engaging in other acts of kindness, aligning with their beliefs for a positive start to the New Year. The serene atmosphere at both locations made it an ideal destination for families seeking spiritual well-being and the blessing of the New Year.
