PATTAYA, Thailand – On Wednesday, 19 February 2025, the Pattaya City Expats Club had the pleasure of hosting Jason Rupp, a renowned travel vlogger with an impressive following of 680,000 subscribers on YouTube and Sunny Z, a professional wrestler, founder of Paradise Sports Entertainment (PSE).

Jason began by recounting his first visit to Thailand 25 years ago as a backpacker, which ignited his passion for travel. He shared how his early experiences in Southeast Asia shaped his desire to explore and document unique travel experiences. His career in Thailand started with acting in TV shows and movies in Bangkok, which later transitioned into presenting on Pattaya YouTube Channel and Inspire, laying the foundation for his vlogging career.

One of the highlights of Jason’s talk was his discussion about his first viral video, which featured a colonic treatment at Yanhee Hospital in Bangkok. This video gained significant attention and marked his entry into viral content creation. He also shared the story of another viral video where he got a haircut in Istanbul, capturing the unique experiences he encounters during his travels.

Jason emphasized the importance of compact equipment for vlogging and shared his approach to creating diverse content, from haircuts to unique therapies, to attract a wide audience. He also spoke about his commitment to supporting small businesses and showcasing the positive aspects of Pattaya, aiming to change its reputation and promote local culture and services.

The audience was particularly interested in Jason’s insights into the technical aspects of vlogging, including his strategies for editing and managing his content. He encouraged aspiring vloggers to focus on creating authentic and engaging content, regardless of the length or format.

Jason then invited Sunny to join him on stage. Sunny began by talking about his journey to Thailand. It was during the pandemic when he sought to escape the harsh winters of Canada. His love for Pattaya and its vibrant community led him to establish PSE, a professional wrestling organization that offers daily wrestling shows and a wrestling school. PSE has quickly become a cornerstone of the local community, providing a healthy and entertaining alternative to the city’s nightlife.

During his presentation, Sunny shared the challenges and triumphs of founding PSE. Despite initial obstacles, PSE hosted its first show in April 2024 and has since grown to offer daily shows. The organization has created numerous jobs and aims to establish a pro wrestling visa like the Muay Thai visa.

After the wrestling demonstration, Benji, Jason, and Gordy watch as Sunny answers a question from the audience.

Sunny emphasized the importance of building a strong community around sports entertainment. PSE not only hosts wrestling shows but also offers fitness and wrestling training classes three times a week for all fitness levels and ages. The organization promotes a healthy lifestyle and provides a fun, clean alternative to nightlife activities.

The highlight of the presentation was an impromptu wrestling match between Sunny Z and Benji, showcasing the entertainment aspect of PSE. The audience was encouraged to attend future shows and participate in the community. Gordy, a former Canadian Armed Forces member, shared his positive experience with PSE, highlighting the honesty and integrity of Sunny and the welcoming nature of the wrestling school.

Gordy noted that PSE invites everyone to try their first class for free and become part of the wrestling community. With daily shows, open boxing matches, and Muay Thai performances, PSE offers a unique blend of sports and entertainment that is sure to captivate audiences.

Following the presentations, MC Ren Lexander brought everyone up to date on upcoming events followed by the Open Forum portion of the meeting where questions are asked and comments made about Expat living in Thailand, especially Pattaya.
