King Taksin the Great will land again in Pattaya 250 years after his epic battle against the Burmese when three eastern provinces host an anniversary commemoration Oct. 29.
Banglamung District Chief Naris Niramaiwong checked on the progress of the construction of the land vehicle to be used in the 3 p.m. Pattaya parade Oct. 16 at the Sanctuary of Truth, which is cosponsoring the historical spectacular.
The event, which will carry a portrait of the fabled king along with seven cannons by water and land from Chantaburi to Pattaya, is divided into two parts, with a boat leaving from Chanthaburi and making stops in Rayong before coming to Pattaya and Chonburi Oct. 29 and 30.
The boat parade will stop at Soi 6 in Pattaya where Buddhist chanting, a parade and entertainment is planned to last into the evening. The boat then again will carry the portrait and cannons to the Chonburi provincial hall Oct. 30.
