The annual Pattaya Pride community festival moved out of Boyz Town and into downtown with its Rainbow Festival at Central Festival Pattaya Beach.
City Councilman Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn and local tourism officials opened the Feb. 10-14 event aimed at promoting safe sex for Valentine’s Day and every day.
Festivities kicked off with a colorful parade down Beach Road featuring floats from bars, transgender cabaret performers, and HIV charities. Many wore lavish costumes, with Cupid being a favorite.
Singer Lookpad Cholanan capped the event with a mini concert.
The event was heavily supported by the YWCA Bangkok-Pattaya Center, Central Festival and city hall. The main activities took place on the ground floor of the mall where people could attend workshops, organize rainbow weddings and more.
