Who needs a white Christmas when a balmy tropical setting like Pattaya is available? Once again Christmas this year was celebrated with tradition and gusto throughout the area, as only Pattaya can provide.
From beaches to bars, from eateries to entertainment venues, there are always plenty of ways to celebrate Yuletide fun. Christmas carolers were prominent and Santa was busy keeping up with demand, with both the aforementioned seen almost everywhere in town, often simultaneously.
Santa made an appearance at the Thai Garden Resort where he traded in his sleigh for an elephant loaded with holiday gifts. The sight of old St. Nick on a pachyderm attracted plenty of photos and guests. Area children were rewarded with toys, sporting goods and other presents.
At the Dusit Thani Pattaya Resort, Christmas Eve was filled with joy, happiness and smiles as many guests spent time there with loved ones and dear friends. The night featured a buffet dinner full of Christmas favorites, while entertainment was provided by the Dusit Jazz Band from the Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University, featuring lead vocalist Natt from Skykick Ranger.
Santa Claus made a special visit to the Dusit to hand out gifts to the young’uns, and Christmas Carols were sung by the Pattaya Orphanage Choir. About 300 Rotarians and community activists celebrated Christmas together at the Rotary Club of the Eastern Seaboard’s annual holiday party at the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa Dec. 20. Club President Brian Songhurst welcomed members and friends from the Pattaya International Ladies clubs and the Pattaya and Jomtien Rotary Clubs.
The party was a purely social event, with a chance for the hard-working community leaders and advocates to share stories and good times. Children from the Human Help Network sang Christmas carols, Santa Claus made an appearance and Dutch swing band B2F entertained for three hours.
At Pullman Pattaya Hotel G, guests, family and friends were invited to celebrate a beachside Christmas eve buffet dinner on 24th December 2018 and Beach & Beats Christmas Day Brunch on 25th December 2018. The buffet was accompanied by live music from Marina Perfileva during dinner time and the beat of music by DJ DAN during brunch time. Activities and games were held around the pool on the Christmas Day.
Guests also enjoyed a surprise visit by Santa Claus carrying gifts for all kids and Carol singers from the Father Ray foundation for the charity on both days.
At city hall, Pattaya officials sang Christmas carols with AIDS patients and caretakers to raise funds for the Glory Hut Foundation. Deputy Mayors Poramet Ngampichet and Banlue Kullavanijaya led the chorus of civil servants who joined with Glory Hut co-founder Pornsawan, hospice staff and patients on Christmas Day. The event was aimed at raising funds for the charity which helps people who suffer from HIV and AIDS.
Wherever you celebrated Christmas, there’s little doubt it was memorable one, as there is no place like Pattaya for the holidays.
