Acting like a Clydesdale

Re: First F1 Grand Prix this weekend (PM Automania Friday, 18 March 2016) – Iain, while the Grand Prix was in Melbourne, there was another going on at the Police Academy in Goulburn.

Since the production of Ford & GMH will end next year a replacement was required for pursuit vehicles. The local vehicles have handled this task for almost 2 decades without complaint.

What else would you consider besides the US legendary muscle car “The 2016 Ford Mustang”? Twenty of these vehicles were purchased and decked out in police livery.

At the testing ground they lasted 3 minutes until the transmissions overheated, the breaking was also lacking. Since they failed the test, acting not like a Mustang but rather like a Clydesdale, it has been decided that these vehicles will never be used as pursuit vehicles. Those not auctioned off may be retained as a visual deterrent. (An auction would be a bonus for those having to wait 18 months for a dealer’s delivery.) It should not be forgotten that the GMH Commodore was exported to the US & rebadged as the Pontiac GTO.

The Audi is said to be next in line as a replacement.

While it’s nice to read about Aston Martins and the like they are really not a conversation starter.
