It is a slow start to the 2018-2019 ‘High Season’ here in Ban Phattha ya, with many business owners wondering, “Where are the tourists?”
And yet, on cue, some bare breasted obese male tourists are seen flaunting their bodies for all to see. Do they really not understand that this is not appropriate, and are they blind to the fact that no respectable Thai men walk around the city with no shirt on? Apparently they are either classless and clueless and/or so arrogant that because they spend a few Baht they think that they can do whatever they want.
The advise to write the Ministry of Foreign affairs to address this issue was acted upon, suggesting to place tracts in local hotel rooms, airports, foreign travel agencies, and order Pattaya City Hall to tell bar and restaurant owners not to allow shirtless men in to their establishments. That was over a month ago, and no reply has been received. One would think that the Ministry would be happy to oblige. Hmmm.
So, while most Expats as well as local Thai people are disgusted with this display of classless arrogance, we, again, are subjected to fat, sweaty Farangs sporting themselves to all who dare gaze their way as they parade around half naked.
Come on pub and restaurant owners and Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials – help clean up the trash in Pattaya and do what is necessary to beautify our fair city.
