Re: Pattaya v Singapore (PM Mailbag Friday 3 April 2015) – I have been to Singapore, two years ago. Way too overpriced for most of the people I know. A happy hour pint of Heineken, sat in an outside beer bar cost 9GBP. A Singapore sling in Raffles cost 15GBP. Taxis weren’t allowed to stop and pick you up, nor were they allowed to drop us off whenever we wanted. The place is so regulated, it’s stifling. Even if I were rich I would not want to go there, never mind live there.
