Dear Editor;
I have a complaint to make regarding your baggage screening officers in Pattaya. I screened my check in luggage on Friday 17 at 4.30pm and an officer told me that I was not allowed to carry a 2000 MAH powerbank. After checking, she told me that I should hand carry it.
After that, when I went into the restricted zone and had my hand carry bag screened, the supervisor screening officer told me that I was not allowed to hand carry my powerbank claiming it was high. Later, he also claimed that the 1st officer was a new staff.
When, I asked for his name, he refused to give me. According to him, the airline is the one who should permit me to carry powerbank onboard. But, the airline ground staff in charge told me that the security officer should decide.
At last, I did not get my powerbank.
Why is your staff unsure of rules? Why is the screening department rude and not strict in giving clear rules?
I believe that anything can be checked in except for hazardous items.
If U-Tapao airport is very strict they should inform passengers about their rules earlier on.
I travelled to Phuket earlier on with the same powerbank and had no issues bringing it back to Singapore.
I was able to bring in my item into your country but unable to carry it back. It really makes no sense.
I want justice as I see unfairness by the screening staffs. Please check your CCTV and see the number of passengers unhappy on that day.
If possible, please get them to deliver my powerbank otherwise I will proceed with complains with major authorities.
Thank you,
Munni
