Re: Old guys in Pattaya (PM Mailbag Friday, 24 January 2014) – The economic crash of the mid 90s drove the baht to extreme low value against western countries and in doing so gave the impression that people on meager incomes could afford an expat life in Thailand.
The hard truth is, expat life has never been viable for people who do not have substantial savings/pensions/incomes.
