Dear Editor,
The hijacking of two Italian professional tourists by 4 real policemen is a very serious matter. Not only as a crime but it involves policemen in regular charge on the Royal Thai Police Institution.
At my knowledge foreign newspapers have widely commented on the episode and that is not a nice publicity for the department and threatens credibility and trustworthiness on an institution that is supposed to take care and protect citizens as well as visitors and tourists.
Rotten eggs are on all sides but this is a case that should be taken in high consideration by the local authority. It’s not any more a petty deplorable bribe. It’s a kidnapping for extortion. A hateful crime.
The issue deserves some action to restore credibility and an exemplary punishment.
Best Regards,
Concerned Farang
