Re: Pattaya Beach still has problems (PM Mailbag Friday, 25 April 2014) – It is an improvement but it’s not what it could have been. My issue is the longevity of the lock block paving. Preparation is the key here and on all the occasions I have seen the pavers at work they did not have the correct equipment to compress the base sufficiently. In a country that sees as much seasonal heavy rain as Thailand does it won’t be long before the blocks start shifting and lifting.
Right idea, wrong execution. They are now onto the beachfront at my condo at Wongamat – different type of repair, hopefully better result.
