Pattaya should follow Chiang Mai example

Dear Editor

I thought Thailand was all the same, how wrong I was. We have just had a six day holiday in Chiang Mai. The people were very polite and friendly. The roads and pavements are well maintained and clean. People are able to walk on the pavements with safety, and there are no motorbike taxis driving or parking and no cars bring repaired, and no stalls taking up most of the pavements. When driving other motorists give way to let you out of side roads; they also stop to let pedestrians cross the road.

The electrical cables are all neat and tidy at a high level on the roads.

Why don’t Pattaya powers to be take a leaf out of the Chiang Mai book and make a lot of improvements to make the roads and pavements safer? Then they may get more tourists wanting to see this town.
