Re: Syphilis tests violate basic human rights (PM Mailbag Friday, 23 August 2013) – No! Shame on you John to even think you should be exempted from a simple test because you work here. Should a person with HIV or full blown AIDS be allowed to work in the kitchen of your hotel? Should they be free to have unprotected sex? A test for syphilis is between you & your Dr and 99.99% of the time will be negative. A visa to Australia requires you to a medical examination. Its many years since I applied for an American visa, but one question was “Are you a communist?” Why is it that when things get a little complicated you scream “Human Rights Invasion”? Go & get your jab and hope you are not in the 0.1%.
