Re: Pattaya should follow Chiang Mai example (PM Monday, 11 April 2016) – Six days in a Lana Paradise.
Day 1: Arrive at hotel & freshen up. Go down to the tour desk and work out an itinerary.
Day 2: Start off early for a trip to Doi Suthep. Spend several hours here admiring the view and the museum. Best to take the tram up and walk the 309 stairs down. On the way home call in to Lampang and visit the Elephant Hospital & perhaps take a ride. Back to hotel and get ready to visit the Night Market. (No need to go hungry as there is ample food stalls available.) Be daring and if it is still early visit Loy Kroh. Chiang Mai has its seedy side & you are naive if you thought it is free from scams, etc.
Visit the zoo and see the giant panda. I remember when Mike, the orangutan was the flavor of the month at Lopburi Zoo, now we hear nothing of him.
The people were so polite? Of course they were. You are buying a product they are selling. How many town’s people did you chat to besides these? (Old Thai saying: Pak Chee Roy Nan, The Coriander is only for Show.) Presuming you are not up to date with Thai customs, how many waitresses & hotel staff did you wai?
In the meantime compare your 6 days in Lana Paradise to your last trip to Bangor.
