Hi Pattaya Mail;
Has anyone any idea of the logic behind the daft law governing the sale of alcohol in convenience stores whereby ‘Alcohol is only for sale from 1100-1400 and 1700-2400’? Also the logic in no beach chairs on a Wednesday just for starters?
Yesterday I tried to enter Soi Day and Night 1 by car from South Pattaya Road and was barred from entry by a security gate with not very friendly guards manning it. Is Soi Day and Night 1 not a public road?
Why is an underpass, which no doubt will get flooded with any heavy rains when it is eventually finished, and not an overpass being built in Sukhumvit Road? (The tunnel will have 4 lanes and a total length of 1,900 meters, it will start at the beginning of Pornprapanimit road to Nakorn Chai air transportation center it’s expected it will take 810 days to complete, better believe it suckers).
Any answers would be welcome.
Thank you for your always interesting weekly.
Regards,
Rick in Jomtien
Ed’s Note: Soi Day Night 1 is now a dead end. Workers have the other end of it blocked off due to construction, so unless you planned on visiting a person or business in the soi, the security guard was right to turn you away. Otherwise you might have gotten to the other end, saw it was blocked off, and might have wondered why they didn’t stop you from entering.
