Re: Problems conjugating English verbs (PM Mailbag Friday, 22 January 2016) – I agree. There are plenty of professional teachers looking for work overseas. It’s just that Thailand can’t pay decent wages. Several of my young nephews & nieces have taught in Japan, Korea & China. While it was tough on Chinese wages; they report doing well in Korea & Japan. One niece speaks, reads & writes Japanese. When I call her to translate for some of our Japanese guests at my ski club, the Japanese guests frequently say they cannot believe that is a farang lady speaking Japanese. They say she is from Hokkaido, where she picked up that Northern Accent.
