Re: What does this street sign mean? (PM Mailbag Friday, 16 January 2015) – I agree the English on the sign is open to interpretation (I took it to mean wait for the light before turning left which is apparently what it does mean). Maybe the Thai people in their own country though should only put the signs up in Thai to avoid these misunderstandings! A written Thai test before you are permitted to take to the roads would then make sense. I am guessing in your home country they do not have translations into Thai for Thai tourists on all the road signs.
