Re: Follow the law (PM Mailbag Friday, 17 May 201) – The main thing to remember is that if you are visiting a foreign country it’s not your home turf. Other than human rights abuse you have to roll with the punches. Use your brain and respect the country’s laws. Most laws are uniform the world over so pretty much common sense should prevail. Never think you are better than the locals. There are plenty of people who visit Thailand, especially from my homeland of Australia, who are disrespectful of the locals. It’s unwarranted and uncalled for. Thailand welcomes foreigners into their country because the tourist trade is important to them. Don’t make the mistake of thinking they are beneath you. They aren’t.
