150 youths participate in Democracy Education Project

Top Pattaya officials continued their series of seminars aimed at teaching students about democracy and encouraging them to become tomorrow’s leaders.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and Pattaya City Council members joined about 150 students at city hall for the seventh Democracy Education Project Feb. 2. The program aimed at educating pupils on democracy and creating youths interested in becoming leaders who will encourage Thais to place more importance on community.

Students from Pattaya School No. 11, Photisampan School, Banglamung School, Banglamung Vocation College and Kingston Vocation College participated in activities that ingrained responsibility to one’s duties, confidence to speak one’s mind, display one’s talent and accept one’s mistakes.

Following lectures at city hall, the youths traveled to the Royal Thai Navy Marines Recon Department in Sattahip to receive further training and perform activities.
