Two men were arrested for allegedly using stolen credit cards to purchase expensive mobile phones in Pattaya.
Picharatch Akaratithiverkul, 52, and Narongrit Boonwattana, 43, were apprehended in separate arrests Jan. 8.
Kasikornbank security officials tipped off police to Picharatch. The Phitsanulok native was nabbed after purchasing an iPhone 6 Plus from Namchai Home Electronics using a foreign credit card issued to a Frenchman. Police found six electronic cards in his wallet as well as receipts showing the purchase of other items.
Narongrit was captured the same day while trying to use a stolen card to buy a Samsung Galaxy smartphone for 25,900 baht. The Angthong native, too, was found in possession of numerous other cards and receipts.
