More than 200 cyclists pedaled 33 kilometers around Pattaya to promote exercise and reduce global warming in an event organized by two city clubs.
The Sept. 21 riding event, sponsored by the Pattaya Bicycle Club and Pattaya Triathlon Club, saw riders begin at city hall, roll down Beach Road and through Walking Street, then circle back along Thepprasit and Sukhumvit roads to the origin point.
Participants prepare for the ride at the starting line in front of Pattaya City Hall.
Pattaya City Councilman Manoch Nongyai, who also heads the Bicycle Club, said cycling is great for physical and mental health, as well as the environment. Such a large number of riders sets a great example for area youth to follow the government’s suggestions for exercising, eating healthily, and maintaining good emotional health and environment.
