More than 2,500 bicyclists hit the road for the latest Nation Bike event in Pattaya.
The May 22 trek, sponsored by Nation Broadcasting Corporation Co. and city hall, was aimed at raising the awareness of motorists to cyclists and improve road safety for the two-wheelers.

Chonburi Deputy Gov. Phawat Lertmukhda and Nation TV Chairman Adisorn Limparungpattanakitch joined top local officials to send the riders on their way on the third Nation-sponsored event.

Adisorn said the company is trying to promote the establishment of bike lanes through its sponsored rides throughout the country, as well as improve road safety.

Showing bike safety still isn’t what it needs to be, the riders had to be guarded on their 40-kilometer ride by more than 100 Chonburi provincial policemen, soldiers from the 14th Military Circle officers, tourist police and volunteers.
